FICPI is an organisation working for the interests of Patent and Trademark professionals world-wide. FICPI was founded in 1906. They are unique, being the only association whose membership consists solely of intellectual property professionals in private practice. With members in 80 countries.

ECTA was formed in 1980 and is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2005. ECTA brings together all those persons practising professionally in the Member States of the European Community in the field of trade marks, designs and related IP matters. These professionals are trade mark advisors, trade mark attorneys, lawyers practising in industry and all others who can be considered specialist practitioners in these areas.ECTA is therefore, an association made up of individuals coming from industry and from private practice, who have a common interest concerning the protection of trade marks and designs in the European Union. ECTA numbers approximately 1.400 members coming from 85 countries.

INTA - The International Trademark Association (INTA) is a not-for-profit membership association of more than 5,000 trademark owners and professionals, from more than 190 countries.The Association was founded in 1878 by 17 merchants and manufacturers who saw a need for an organization "to protect and promote the rights of trademark owners...". After 125 years, INTA continues its mission to represent the trademark community, shape public policy and advance professional knowledge and development.

AIPPI - International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, dates back to 1897, shortly following the signature of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property in the year 1883. It is a politically neutral, non-profit organization, domiciled in Switzerland which currently has over 8000 Members representing more than 100 countries.

EPI - The Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office („EPI") came into existence pursuant to the European Patent Convention (EPC) upon provisions adopted by the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organization. The Institute being an international non-governmental public law corporation has its own by-laws and code of professional conduct. At present, the Institute which represents the first all-European patent profession comprises about 8700 members from 32 European countries both from industry and free profession.
